Niranjana Public Welfare Scool
インド、ビハール州。茶色い土に囲まれた農村地帯。
学校に行かずに農業の手伝いをする子どもも多い、そんな地域で、
青空学校から始まったのがニランジャナスクール(Niranjana Public Welfare Scool＝NPWS)です。
日本の学生たち５０人が、アルバイト代を貯めて、学校の校舎をプレゼントしました。
今では、２００人以上の子どもたちが周辺の村からここに通っています。
親がいない、あるいは事情があって育てることができない親の子どもたちが寝泊まりするためのドミトリーもあります。
イラストでは、ドミトリーは川の向こう側だけど、本当はこっち側。でも、橋のない川をじゃぶじゃぶ渡って通ってくる子もいる。
日本をはじめ、欧米、オーストラリアの人たちが、ボランティアでやってきて
ドミトリーの子どもたちと同じ釜のメシ（ほとんどがカレー味）を食べて、仲良しになったり。
たくさん遊んでもらって、子どもたちに元気をもらったり。

The area is surrounded by an agricultural setting, home to endless fields of dark soil.
Many children do agricultural work instead of going to school.
The Niranjana school started as a basic project,
initially just having a portable whiteboard and a carpet for the children to sit on.
But they have worked gradually and progressively to create the school in such a location today.
50 Japanese students have done part time work, saving the money earned to present the school building for Niranjana.
More than 300 students from the surrounding area go to that school at present.
The Trust has a hostel where the needy and orphaned children can live too.
In the map, the hostel is over the river side but, in fact it is near the school.
Some children splash their way across another river and commute to school.
People come here from far and wide to volunteer, eat the same food (curry in abundance),
become friends, play and spend much time with the students, gaining energy and insight from them.
